This handbook complements the former book by the same author, Swine disorders guide, published by Servet in 2014. This new guide is focused on the diagnosis of swine disorders, including clinical examination and clinical signs, and includes a deep review of the main disorders according to their clinical signs.
This manual on surgery, gathering 30 clinical cases, provides the reader with a better understanding to perform surgeries in dogs and cats with gastrointestinal disorders. Both simple and complex cases are addressed, detailing patient’s history, physical examination, surgical preparation and technique, as well as additional considerations. It is the intention of the authors of this book to present a series of assorted surgical cases related to the digestive system. Surgical situations of dogs and cats with a more frequent presentation, but because of that none less challenging, will be included. Some less commonly presentations, with their own puzzling demands, will be also addressed.
Vaccination is one of the cornerstones of poultry production. In fact, it is one of the aspects that most influence production parameters in the poultry industry. In broilers, the optimum time of vaccination should aim at obtaining the maximum meat yield. In layers and breeders, both time and the route of administration have an influence in the quality of egg shells and the number of eggs per laying, among others.
